HIGH POINT REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM
High Point Regional Health System (HPRHS) is a private, not-for-profit health system serving the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina and governed by a volunteer, community based board of trustees. High Point Regional, like other CODE BLUE sponsoring medical centers, has been awarded Magnet Status. This designation is the gold standard for high quality of nursing care and has only been awarded by the American Nurses’ Associations to around 150 hospitals in America. The 384-bed hospital has six areas which they have designated as centers of excellence. They include the following:
The Cancer Center
This Center brings all elements of cancer care under one roof including both inpatient and outpatient services. Designed for both patients and their families, it has overnight accommodations for family members. In addition to the latest technologies available at the Center, the hospital has an alliance with the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University, one of the top 40 facilities of its kind in the country.
Carolina Regional Heart Center
This ultra-modern Center combines offices for cardiologists and state-of-the-art diagnostic services. The Center houses a medically supervised Fitness Center, open seven days a week, as well as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation facilities. Both in-patients and out-patients can be admitted or registered at the Center, conveniently located adjacent to a new parking deck. The Center’s mission is to help area residents fight heart disease, currently the number one leading cause of death in North Carolina.
 Emergency Center
More than 50,000 people are served annually in this area, which was expanded to twice its original size in 2001. The expansion also helped lower waiting times and raise patient satisfaction. Equipped with the latest technology, it features private rooms for each patient.
Neuroscience Center
This area offers diagnosis and treatment services for patients with neurological disease and includes a neurodiagnostic laboratory, intensive neuroscience care unit for monitoring and patient care, and a sleep lab for diagnosing sleep disorders. Specialized nursing supervision is available for patients suffering from head and neck injuries.
Piedmont Joint Replacement Center
Located on the eighth floor of the hospital, this area is specially designed for patients needing total joint replacement. The Center’s team of experienced orthopedic surgeons, expert nurses, and physical therapists work together determinedly focused on successful outcomes for joint replacement patients.
The Women’s Center
Located on the fifth floor of HPRHS’s newest section, this area is devoted entirely to meeting the needs of women. The Center's all-female staff includes certified lactation consultants, mammography technicians, nurse educators, and childbirth instructors. Private waiting rooms, spacious classrooms and direct access to Childbirth Suite & Newborn Nursery create a convenient, inviting facility.
 Other Outpatient and Specialized Services
As part of our mission to provide total care, inside and out, HPRHS is known for such specialized or outpatient services as the following:
Diabetes Self Care Management Center
Participants in this self-management service receive quality and comprehensive diabetes care including the knowledge and skills to assist with day-to-day living.
High Point Behavioral Health
Behavioral assessment inpatient and outpatient treatment programs for chemical dependency and psychiatric conditions are provided through this service.
