MOSES CONE HEALTH SYSTEM

Moses Cone Health System is a multi-hospital system with a range of outpatient services providing compassionate, quality patient care to the Piedmont Triad. We serve primarily residents of Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Alamance and Forsyth counties. The Health System employs more than 7,500 health professionals and support staff in its five hospitals and numerous outpatient centers.

The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital
The flagship of Moses Cone Health System, this 518-bed hospital is located on a 63-acre campus near downtown Greensboro. Offering comprehensive care in a wide range of medical and surgical services, the hospital houses the Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center, a Level II trauma center, Rehabilitation Center and Neuroscience Center. It also is home to the children’s emergency department.

Wesley Long Community Hospital
This 175-bed modern medical center is home to the Moses Cone Regional Cancer Center, which provides comprehensive oncology services. Other specialized services include the Bariatric Surgery Program, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, a complete radiological service, outpatient surgery center, a treatment program for diabetics, an orthopedic medical/surgical unit and the only accredited Sleep Disorders Center in Greensboro.

The Women’s Hospital of Greensboro
This 134-bed hospital was North Carolina’s first free-standing hospital for women and infants. Offering family-centered maternity care, the hospital has a Level II and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for infants with special needs. High risk maternal/fetal care and gynecologic day surgery programs are just two of the many medical services available for women.

 

Annie Penn Hospital
Located 20 miles north of Greensboro, Annie Penn serves Reidsville and surrounding areas with its 110 acute-care beds. Adjacent to Annie Penn Hospital is Penn Nursing Center, a 92-bed skilled facility that offers skilled and intermediate nursing care. Clinical and special services include cardiology programs, cancer center, surgery center, a sleep center, rehabilitation center and rheumatology clinic.

Moses Cone Behavioral Health Center
An 80-bed mental health facility, the Behavioral Health Center addresses a wide range of mental, emotional and substance abuse conditions and offers both inpatient and outpatient care. Services include a 24-hour help line with free access to a trained professional.

Out-Patient Services

In addition to the hospitals, Moses Cone Health System also has an extensive network of outpatient services, including the following:

Developmental and Psychological Center: Established to help children and adolescents, the Center provides specialized neurodevelopmental and psychological services.

Nutrition and Diabetes Management Center
This center provides outpatient nutrition assessment, counseling and education to physician- and self-referred patients.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Center  
The only comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facility in Greensboro, this center provides physical, occupational and speech therapy for children and adults. A new Neurorehabilitation Center focuses on the need of stroke and trauma patients.

MedCenter Kernersville
 This facility features an urgent care center, a primary care practice, a cardiology practice, an outpatient mental health office, an occupational health center, a rehabilitation center, a full-service laboratory, a diagnostic imaging center that includes a full range of imaging services from X-rays to MRI, a pain management clinic, an obstetrical/gynecological practice and an orthopedic practice.

MedCenter High Point
This facility centerpiece is a 12-bed emergency department that is open 24/7 and provides a full range of emergency services. MedCenter High Point also houses a diagnostic imaging center that includes a full range of imaging services from X-rays to CT, a full-service laboratory, a primary care practice, an oncology practice, a cardiology practice, a pain management clinic, an orthopedic office and a pulmonary and critical care office.

FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS AVAILABLE FOR HEALTHCARE STUDENTS

The Academic Scholarship Program is available to students that are enrolled in Nursing (RN), Physical Therapy, Occupation Therapy, Pharmacy, Radiation Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Certified Medical Assisting and Anesthesiology programs. Participants can receive assistance ranging from $1,250 - $10,000 per academic year. Students must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and commit to work in their field of study one year for each year that they receive the scholarship.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The summer volunteer program at Moses Cone Hospital begins the first of June and ends the first of August. Applications are available beginning in January of each year and students are selected for the program during March and April. Students must be ages 14 to 18 and have at least a ā€œCā€ average or above.
